Demonata- Checkmate

AUGH! I WILL NEVER EVER DRAW A CHESSBOARD EVER AGAIN!!!!!

Phew! Sorry.

Yep, that's one ooglay chessboard. But whatever. This is at the end of the first Demonata book, "Lord Loss", where Lord Loss is playing against the ever-obnoxious Grubbs Grady. They have to play best three of five, and this is the end of the last game, where Lord Loss just tosses away his king and says that Grubbs has checkmate. Grubbs, however, doesn't see it. This, and a comment made later by Lord Loss, leads me to believe that he just got sick of Grubbs and gave up.

I had a blast with this, by the way. I actually played a game of chess against myself to get the pieces where they are and I drew the board as it was. That's how dorky I am. I love Lord Loss's expression and the flippant chucking motion he's making. And I love that Grubbs is like, "What checkmate?" Even his little snake is like "whuddafxup widdat?"
